Terms & Conditions
The agreement between you and us when you book. Please read it before paying a deposit.
Who we are
This website is operated by Shillong Trip. Contact: [email protected] · Shillong, Meghalaya, 793001.
Quotes and prices
Prices on this site are indicative starting prices per person, twin sharing, with standard hotels and a private vehicle. Your written quote gives the final price for your dates, hotels, vehicle and group size. Quotes are valid for 7 days or until the hotels in them sell out. Applicable taxes, including GST, are shown in the quote.
Booking and payment
A booking is confirmed on receipt of the deposit and our written confirmation. Payment terms and cancellation charges are in our Cancellation & Refund Policy. Pay only to the bank account or payment link in your written quote; we never ask for payment to a personal account over a phone call.
What is included
Your quote lists exactly what is and is not included. Typically included: hotels with the meals stated, a private vehicle with driver for the routes in the itinerary, permits we arrange and driver allowances. Typically not included: flights, trains, entry and camera fees, safari fees unless stated, lunches and personal expenses.
Permits and documents
Inner Line Permits (Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur), Protected Area Permits and special passes such as Bum La are issued by government offices, not by us. We apply on your behalf with the documents you send. Carry original photo ID (and passports and visas for foreign nationals) throughout the trip. If a permit is refused or suspended, our closure terms apply.
Health and altitude
Arunachal routes reach about 4,200 m at Sela Pass and higher at Bum La. You are responsible for being fit to travel and for consulting a doctor, particularly with heart, lung or blood-pressure conditions, during pregnancy or with infants. Treks such as Nongriat involve thousands of steps. Tell us about medical conditions so we can adjust the plan.
Vehicles and drivers
Local rules and taxi associations govern tourist vehicles in several towns (for example Sohra, Dawki and Tawang). Vehicles run on the routes in your itinerary; point-to-point changes, night driving and routes outside the plan may not be allowed or may cost extra. Air-conditioning is generally not used on hill roads.
Your conduct
Follow local laws and customs: villages such as Mawlynnong and sacred forests such as Mawphlang have their own rules, monasteries and satras expect modest dress, and photography is not allowed near army installations. We may end services without refund if a traveller behaves dangerously or illegally.
Our responsibility
We choose hotels, transporters and guides with care, but they are independent suppliers. We are not liable for loss, injury, delay or extra cost caused by events outside our control, including weather, landslides, floods, road or park closures, strikes, government action or acts of the traveller. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid to us for the affected services.
Travel insurance
We strongly recommend travel insurance covering cancellation, medical treatment and evacuation. It is not included unless your quote says so.

We keep information accurate, but permits, fares, timings and road status change. See our disclaimer. Photos are credited to their Wikimedia Commons authors; see photo credits.
